Back Chat Brass Group

It's Learning but fun

Music has the power to transform lives, and we believe every young person deserves access to that magic. Back Chat Brass brings professional music education directly to schools, community centres, and care homes, creating inspiring experiences that introduce new generations to the joy of brass music and live performance.

We’re proud to work with leading music education organisations including Live Music Now, ArtForms, and the in2 project. These partnerships allow us to reach even more young people and communities, bringing professional music education to those who need it most.

Back Chat Brass Together

Ready to adopt a love for brass?

Back Chat Brass offers two distinct ways to bring professional music education to your setting. We offer Participatory Performances, combining the excitement of a live show with interactive elements that get your audience involved – we’ll come to you with our signature big, bold sound, performing fresh takes on the tracks you love most, but the real magic happens when everyone joins in.

Our Brass Workshops provide hands-on learning experiences where students get to try playing brass instruments themselves, guided by our professional musicians in fun, accessible masterclasses that introduce new sounds and techniques

Both options are designed to be inclusive and engaging, breaking down barriers and making music accessible to participants of all abilities and backgrounds.

1 band. 8 instruments. LOTS of Schools. Infinite fun.
St.Bartholomew's primary school
The key stage 2 children had a brilliant day today listening to a brass band. Back Chat Brass came into teach the children all about brass instruments and play their favourite songs. It was brilliant to hear such talented musicians playing live in school. Thank you to the band for sharing their skills with us.
Northallerton School
On Tuesday 14th June we had the pleasure of hosting the fabulous Backchat Brass, leading workshops with students from Applegarth Primary. Students learned everything from how to hold their instrument, all the way to performing with the band. The sessions received excellent feedback, with 30+ students expressing an interest in taking up an instrument. We will look forward to these new musicians making their way to Northallerton in the next few years!
Tranmere Park Primary School
We had a visit from the amazing Backchat Brass. They ran three fabulous interactive sessions for the children where they played some familiar tunes and introduced and explained their instruments. There were games, singing, dancing, songwriting (sort of!) and lots of laughs. They were absolutely brilliant. They children were mesmerised from the moment they started playing. Many thanks to our wonderful PTA for funding this excellent opportunity for a live performance.

“Back Chat Brass came into our primary school and delivered three fantastic performances for different key stages. They played well-known songs, introduced and explained their instruments, and got the children involved throughout. The pupils were mesmerised from the moment the band started playing and had an amazing time from start to finish. The show was full of fun, energy, and interaction — everyone left feeling uplifted. It was the best thing we’ve had in school for a long time.”

“What a fantastic performance! Back Chat Brass had the whole school thoroughly engaged — singing along and learning about the instruments. The time flew by, and the amount of positive feedback from the children was phenomenal. I cannot recommend them highly enough.”

“Back Chat Brass visited White Laith and what an afternoon we had! All the children from Reception to Year 6 were enthralled — and so were the staff. The musicians kept us on our toes as we jumped, clapped, and stomped along in time, then tried to work out which instrument was the lowest and highest. We loved it! I’ll definitely be asking them back.”

“Back Chat Brass came to our school — wow, what an experience! They performed for the children, got them involved, and taught them about the instruments they played. Everyone joined in and had huge smiles on their faces. Afterwards, the band played outside at our Jubilee party, where children and staff danced together. It was such a joyful day and one we hope to repeat soon. I’d recommend Back Chat Brass to any primary school looking to get children truly enthusiastic about music. Huge thank you from Colton Primary School.”
